Colin Cowherd Highlights Key Concerns Impacting Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Prospects

In the latest episode of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” Cowherd discusses the NFL draft. He predicted the Giants would draft Sanders at No. 3 behind Travis Hunter and Cam Ward. He also addressed why some general managers are hesitating to draft Sanders. He pointed out his immaturity and questioned whether the QB has the standout talent.

“People aren’t into Shedeur Sanders. I think there’s two things: number one, there’s enough video out there—like you had with Caleb Williams. There’s some stuff that old general managers are not going to like. You’ve got a little bit of immaturity – there’s the watch pose against Arizona State and a couple of teams.”

Cowherd continues, “There’s not enough wow like Caleb Williams had. There’s not enough wow to go, ‘Okay, forget about it. He is young, NIL money, a little into himself, whatever.’ So, I think there’s not enough wow, and there’s a little bit of the Caleb immaturity stuff old-school GMs don’t like.

Sanders is considered a top QB in this year’s NFL draft, bringing a wealth of experience. Having spent four years as a starter at Jackson State and Colorado, he’s among the most seasoned prospects in a world where college athletes often fast-track their way to the pros.

The impact of Shedeur Sanders’ experience at the next level remains unclear, but the lack of depth in this year’s QB class plays in his favor. He likely won’t have to wait long before hearing his name called on draft night.
