AJ Storr is again in the transfer portal, according to On3. The former St. John and Kansas guard is leaving Lawrence, Kansas, with one-year remaining eligibility. Storr averaged 6.1 points on only 15.7 minutes per game after averaging 16.8 points on 28.8 minutes in Madison, Wisconsin.
Here are the top five potential transfer portal landing spots for Storr.

Top Five Transfer Portal Landing Spots for Kansas Guard AJ Storr
Illinois
The Rockford, Illinois native once committed to the Fighting Illini and had coach Brad Underwood before decommitting and heading to St. John’John’s Illini have lost four players to the portal, including wing Tre White and guard Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn. They are bracing themselves for Kasparas Jakucionis and Will Riley heading to the league, making Storr a potential target for his hometown team.
Iowa
The Hawkeyes lost some players to the portal following the dismissal of former coach Fran McCaffery, but the future now looks bright with ex-Drake head coach Ben McCollum at the helm.
The Hawkeyes, who lost guards Josh Dix, Brock Harding, and Seydou Traore to the portal and Drew Thelwell to eligibility while gaining Drake’s Bennett Stirtz and Kael Combs, will undoubtedly be looking for more help in the frontcourt. They are only manning freshman Jacob Koch and junior Carter Kingsbury, neither of whom averaged even two points per game last year.
Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights got cleaned out this spring, with star guard Dylan Harper announcing his entry to the NBA Draft, Ace Bailey expected to follow suit, starter Jeremiah Williams hitting the portal, and Tyson Acuff and PJ Hayes IV finishing their eligibility. That leaves plenty of room for Storr.
What was once a crowded guard room on head coach Steve Pikiell’s team is now in ruins, with only two players—junior Jordan Derkack and sophomore Jamichael Davis—having played meaningful minutes in the backcourt last year.
LSU
The Tigers, losing three of their top four guards to eligibility and another three to the portal, scored an official visit from Storr in 2021. Head coach Matt McMahon is facing a pivotal fourth year after failing to earn a record over .500 in conference play in each of his first three seasons in Baton Rouge, and could look to Storr as a potential starter alongside new transfers Dedan Thomas of UNLV and Rashad King of Northeastern.
Miami
The Hurricanes expressed serious interest in Storr out of high school and have shown they’re afraid to spend. With new head coach Jai Lucas at the helm, the Hurricanes have added guard Tre Donaldson to replace the losses of leading scorer Matthew Cleveland to eligibility and Nijel Pack, Jalil Bethea, Jalen Blackmon, Austin Swartz, Paul Djobet, and Divine Ugochukwu to the portal.

While the former Wolverine guard is a solid start, the team still needs to complete its full backcourt. Storr could be a great start.
