The Seminoles will start the season with a showdown against Alabama at Doak Campbell Stadium on August 30. Well, it is safe to say that this early-season heavyweight battle could set the tone for the entire season.
On top of that, if they deliver a strong performance against the Crimson Tide, it would immediately put FSU back in the national conversation.
Conference play kicks off on the road at Virginia on September 26, which could be a tricky Friday night contest. Then comes the game that every FSU fan circles on their calendar—Miami, at home, on Oct. 4. The tension will continue with Pittsburgh (Oct. 11) at home. It will be followed by a long flight west to face Stanford (Oct. 18).
As October will close out, FSU returns home to take on Wake Forest (Oct. 25) before heading into the toughest stretch of the season: Clemson, on the road, on Nov. 1. If the Seminoles have any shot at winning the ACC, this is the game that will likely determine it.
After a bye week, the Seminoles host Virginia Tech (Nov. 15) before finishing the season with two critical road games: NC State (Nov. 22) and Florida (Nov. 29). That rivalry showdown with the Gators could have massive stakes, and a treat to watch.
Mike Norvell’s Perspective
Norvell knows this season could define his tenure at Florida State.
“We’ve put in the work, and now it’s about execution. This team knows what’s at stake, and we’re ready to embrace the challenge,” Norvell said about the upcoming year.
Norvell has focused on strengthening the roster through recruiting and the transfer portal, ensuring that FSU is ready to compete at the highest level. After some frustrating losses in 2024, he’s made it clear that the standard at Florida State is championship football.

“There’s no question that we have the talent. It’s about showing up every week and proving it on the field,” Norvell said.
For FSU to succeed, they’ll need strong quarterback play, a dominant defense, and the ability to win tough games on the road.
