Oregon center Nate Bittle declared for the 2025 NBA draft on Monday but will maintain his college eligibility. He also decided against entering the transfer portal, meaning another college season in Eugene could be on the horizon.
Bittle averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this season and had an impressive outing in the NCAA Tournament, scoring 14 points in the first-round win over Liberty. He followed it up with 16 points in a narrow loss against Arizona in the second round.

“After speaking with Coach Altman and my parents, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue another childhood dream of one day playing in the NBA,” Bittle posted on social media. “Today, I am declaring myself for the 2025 NBA Draft while maintaining my college eligibility.”
Here are five potential teams that could use Bittle’s expertise next season.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets are having a surprisingly impressive campaign so far, but they could benefit from a big and reliable center. Standing at 7′, Bittle could be a very exciting option for Houston.
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers are weighing the availability of former MVP Joel Embild as he battles injury concerns. They could be looking for a young and fresh center to replace Embild or serve as his understudy.
There’s no better player for Bittle to gain experience from other than Embild.
New York Knicks
With Mitchell Robinson’s health concerns, the Knicks need a reliable center behind Karl-Anthony Towns. New York could be an exciting spot for Bittle.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards are currently undergoing a full-scale rebuild. They are focusing on accumulating draft capital and developing young talent to become future contenders.

Team President Michael Winger is focused on drafting young talents, and the center is a highly important position for a team looking to contend. Bittle could be an option for Washington.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz are currently in their third season of rebuilding, and they are not aiming for immediate contention but rather to build a foundation for future success.
They are currently aiming for a high draft pick in the 2025 NBA draft with the hopes of securing elite talents such as Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey. With four picks in this year’s draft, the Jazz could pick Bittle in their quest to build a contending roster.
