With the 2025 WNBA Draft just weeks away, Olivia Miles is expected to be one of the first names off the board.
Miles, a standout point guard for Notre Dame, is widely regarded as the best passer in this year’s draft class. With the Fighting Irish eliminated from the NCAA Tournament following a loss to TCU, the 22-year-old is expected to declare for the draft, where she is projected to go No. 2 overall.

A look at Olivia Miles’ Family Background
Miles has often credited her upbringing for shaping her competitive edge. Her father, Yakubu, immigrated to the United States from Jamaica at age 12, while her mother, Maria, is of Italian descent.
“My dad came here as a Jamaican immigrant when he was 12 and taught me so many things, including how to play soccer from the jump, really. Like as soon as I learned to walk,” Miles said. “My parents sacrificed a lot to put me in the right places to be successful.”
Miles attended Blair Academy in New Jersey, where she established herself as one of the nation’s top recruits. As a junior, she averaged 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game. A five-star prospect, she received offers from Stanford, North Carolina, and Notre Dame before committing to the Fighting Irish.
She made an immediate impact at Notre Dame. In her first NCAA Tournament game, Miles became the first freshman—male or female—to record a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds against UMass.
As a freshman, she averaged 13.7 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, finishing second only to Caitlin Clark in assists among Division I players. She was named first-team All-ACC.
In 2022, Miles surpassed Jackie Young and Skylar Diggins-Smith for the most triple-doubles in Notre Dame history.
