WATCH: 464-Pound Florida DT Is the Obvious Pro Day Showstopper

With draft season in full swing, fans are starting to get familiar with the prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class. The NFL Scouting Combine and on-campus pro days give players a chance to show scouts—and the rest of us—what they’re made of.

Watson took full advantage of that opportunity.

Desmond Watson Dominates Florida Gators Pro Day

The former Gator lined up at Florida’s pro day and showed flashes of potential, even if he’s projected as a late Day 3 pick or potential undrafted free agent.

If you’ve watched any Florida games over the past year, you’ve probably noticed Watson. At 464 pounds, he’s hard to miss. That makes him one of the largest draft prospects in recent memory.

Despite his massive frame, Watson showed off surprising athleticism during his workout.

He posted a 25-inch vertical jump—a number that may not jump off the page until you consider his weight. His 40-yard dash came in at 5.39 seconds, another mark that’s more impressive in context.

His biggest moment came on the bench press, where he racked up 36 reps of 225 pounds.

That total would have led all participants at the 2024 NFL Combine by three reps, highlighting the raw strength that often pops off the tape.

Watson consistently collapses the pocket and displaces interior offensive linemen. His power shows up on film, even if his straight-line speed and lateral mobility aren’t elite.

Those limitations may push him down draft boards, but his performance in Gainesville likely elevated his stock—and may have solidified his place in this year’s draft.
