One of the best freshman players in women’s college basketball, Kiyomi McMiller, is about to be on the market. The only question is, where will she go after leaving the Rutgers Scarlett Knights?

Kiyomi McMiller Enters Transfer Portal
According to insider Talia Goodman, Rutgers’ star point guard McMiller is entering her name into the transfer portal.
Despite her team posting a record of just 12-19 ahead of its NIT matchup with Charleston, McMiller was a true bright spot for her squad in New Jersey.

The Maryland native averaged 18.7 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and over 30.0 minutes played per game.
For every school out there looking for a talented floor general to build their basketball team around, McMiller could be the perfect option.
The 5’8″ freshman has her entire college career ahead of her, which is why she will likely want to join an elite team.
Time will tell which schools will come calling over the next few weeks and months.
How Can Rutgers Respond to This?
After posting a rough record this season and with its best player now walking out the door, the Scarlet Knights will need to find a way to bounce back in 2025-2026.
Senior point guard Destiny Adams finished second on the team in scoring this regular season (17.7 points per game). Additionally, her 9.6 rebounds per game led the team. But again, she will soon be leaving the program, too.
The team is losing a lot of production and ability with these two players and is going to have to act quickly to replace them.
Not to mention the fact that forward JoJo Lacey and guard Awa Sidibe are both seniors, too.

In a conference where USC and UCLA are the leaders because they were able to post 30+ wins this season ahead of the NCAA Tournament, teams like Rutgers, Wisconsin, Purdue, Northwestern, and Penn State have a long road ahead of them.
But if they can recruit well and develop players into true stars, the road could be made smoother.
A lot of eyes will be on the Rutgers program as they look to try and build a contender in the near future.
