Kentucky junior guard Saniah Tyler has entered the transfer portal, sources told On3’s Talia Goodman. The 5’6” junior averaged 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists this season, a significant drop off from last season.

Transfer Portal Landing Spots For Saniah Tyler
While her team experienced some success, reaching the Second Round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season, Saniah Tyler’s individual efforts dropped off.

Now, she will look to another school to continue improving her skills. Here are five potential landing spots for the guard.
Duke Blue Devils
Tyler was recruited to Lexington by Blue Devils assistant coach Kyra Elzy. The Duke assistant figured out how to use Tyler last year, giving her about 26 minutes per game, where she averaged in the double-digits.
With senior guard Reigan Richardson’s eligibility expiring, the Blue Devils will have 27 minutes per game to fill in the backcourt.
Missouri Tigers
The Tigers are coming off an abysmal 2024-25 season, which led to Robin Pingeton’s firing. The hiring of established veteran coach Kellie Harper, who recruited Tyler when she was the head woman at Tennessee for the lead position, shows signs of commitment to the women’s basketball program in Columbia.
With Tyler hailing from Florissant, Missouri, she could look towards home and the potential of more minutes on an SEC team.
Arizona State Sun Devils
While Tyler was recruited by the now-fired Natasha Adair, the Sun Devils look like an even more appealing landing location with newly hired hotshot Molly Miller at the helm.
Miller will look to revamp the program, and trying to woo Tyler back down to Tempe could be a step in the right direction. With Tyi Skinner’s graduation, the Sun Devils will have over 35 minutes of playing time to replace in the backcourt.
Tennessee Lady Volunteers
While leadership has changed at Tennessee, with Kim Caldwell taking over for Kellie Harper, success has gone up. The Lady Volunteers have a chance to make the Elite Eight for the first time since 2016.
Caldwell will look to continue that success, and with the departures of Jewel Spear and Samara Spencer upcoming, she could look Tyler’s way.
Illinois Fighting Illini
The Fighting Illini made the second round of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2000 and are keen to continue their success under head coach Shauna Green.

With senior guards Genesis Bryant, Adalia McKenzie, and Makira Cook all slated to depart Champaign, there should be plenty of space for Tyler to fill, less than three hours from home.
