Harmoni Turner’s Emotional Tribute to Harvard Coach Carrie Moore: ‘She Told Me I Was Generational’

Harvard Crimson senior guard Harmoni Turner showered praise and thanked her head coach, Carrie Moore after the Ivy League giants crashed out of the NCAA Women’s Tournament in the first round this weekend.

Although the 24-year-old guard did try her best, the No. 10 seed Lady Crimson failed to advance past the first round in their last four NCAA appearances—this time a 64-50 loss to No. 7 seed Michigan State.

Harmoni Turner Gives Heartfelt Tribute To Head Coach

A visibly emotional Harmoni Turner spoke to the press after the game, showering praise on Head Coach Carrie Moore and saying their relationship is going to last longer than Harvard.

“She’s someone that I deeply, truly love and care about. I feel like we have a relationship that is so unique because, I mean, it’s grown so much, especially since she’s got here,” Turner started. “I love her to death, man, and I’m just going to stop there because I’m going to start boohooing.

“I’m so thankful for her. Thankful for her belief in me. Thankful that she never gave up on me. Especially in times when I was doubting myself. She still had that belief in me… She’s told me since she got here that I was generational, and she led me to believe that.

“You can’t ask for a better coach than that. I feel like our relationship is going to go beyond Harvard as well,” she concluded.

The pair’s strong bond is evident. The head coach responded to her statement on social media.

“This is my WHY. Thank you for giving me and this program your everything. I love you, always.” Although they seem very fond of each other, they must now part ways as Turner is entering the 2025 WNBA draft.
