Meanwhile, early-enrolling freshman linebacker Madden Faraimo has claimed No. 19, meaning that fans will know exactly who to credit when a big play comes from that jersey. It showcased Carr in action at practice. The footage showcased his quick mechanics, strong arm, and ability to make off-balance throws, prompting Horka to caption the clip with high praise:

More Players Embrace New Jersey Numbers
Beyond Carr’s notable change, several other players have also switched up their jersey numbers for the 2025 season. Sophomore cornerback Leonard Moore will now wear No. 2, which is historically linked to elite defensive backs. This move could signify confidence as he looks to take on a larger role in Notre Dame’s secondary.
Running back Aneyas Williams has also changed, opting for No. 22 as he prepares to make a more significant impact on the offense. Additionally, Notre Dame’s early-enrolling freshmen and incoming transfers have been officially assigned new numbers.
