Demon Clowney Enters Transfer Portal Again: What’s Next?
According to Pete Nakos, Clowney has once again enrolled in the NCAA transfer portal. The former Ole Miss and Charlotte defensive lineman is seeking a new program to continue his college football career.

Clowney served his final two seasons with the Charlotte 49ers. Last year, he recorded 26 total tackles and two sacks.
The former four-star recruit was ranked No. 229 in the country for the 2020 class. He initially committed to the Ole Miss Rebels and played for the SEC team for three seasons. In minimal playing time, the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Baltimore native recorded 10 total tackles and two sacks.
Following the 2022 season, he moved to Charlotte. Clowney recorded 59 total tackles and 4.5 sacks during his two seasons with the 49ers.
However, in December 2024, Clowney re-entered the transfer portal and eventually committed to Louisville. His stint with the Cardinals was brief, and he has now returned to the portal in sought of another opportunity.
While the specific reasons for his current transfer decision are unknown, Clowney is likely looking for a better system fit, more playing time, or an opportunity to improve his NFL draft stock.
Given his physical abilities and previous experience at the Power Five and Group of Five levels, he should have multiple transfer alternatives.
