South Carolina’s women’s basketball head coach, Dawn Staley is clearly one of the elite coaches in the sport. In 16 seasons as the leader of the Gamecocks women’s team, she has won three national championships and has led them to six final four appearances in the last nine years.

A Look Into Dawn Staley’s Personal Life.
Dawn Staley was born in 1970 in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a star basketball player growing up and, after dominating in high school, committed to the Virginia Cavaliers to continue her playing career.
After her terrific career with the Cavaliers, Staley was drafted No. 9 overall in the 1999 WNBA draft, where she played until 2006. Staley was a six-time WNBA All-Star and became an all-time great.
After her playing career, Staley got into coaching, starting as the Temple Owls women’s college basketball coach in 2000 before taking over at South Carolina in 2008.
Is Dawn Staley Married?
No, Staley is not married and is not in any reported relationships. She keeps her personal life very private, and there’s not much information on who she is off the court.
Staley does have a dog who she aptly named “Champ” and often posts Champ on her social media. Staley grew up with three brothers and a sister, but there is not too much information on them either.

It is known that Staley’s mother and father both passed away. Her father died in 2006 from an illness, and her mother passed away in 2017 from Alzheimer’s, right before Dawn won her first-ever national title.
