Could JuJu Watkins’ Iconic Bun Inspire a Hair Care Line?

JuJu Watkins has been everywhere lately. And it is not just because of her performance! Watkins has led the Trojans to a No. 1 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Despite the heartbreaking Big Ten championship loss to UCLA, Watkins left her mark. While she is undoubtedly making history on hard courts, she is also doing the same off-court.

JuJu Watkins and the Iconic Hair Style!

Watkins, in fact, recently even signed a deal with Fanatics. This makes her the first woman college athlete to land an exclusive multi-year contract with the company. But these are not the only things that the world is talking about!

Watkins has a signature look that’s become just as iconic as her stat lines. Whether she’s dropping 30+ points or blocking shots, one thing remains constant: the perfectly slicked-back high bun.

It has caught the attention of everyone, so much so that it has gone from a hairstyle to her trademark. To add on, she doesn’t even do it herself!

It is in fact, Watkins’ mom who does her hair. After 18 years of doing Watkins’ hair, her mom, Sari seems to have simply perfected the craft. It’s crisp, it’s sleek, and it doesn’t move, no matter how intense the game gets.

“The secret behind the bun is don’t tell the secret behind the bun,” she said on NBC Sports’ “On Her Turf” podcast.

The Watkins bun has become a part of her brand. So the only question that remains is, could a JuJu Watkins haircare line be in the works? Well, NBC Sports had the same question. They asked her about the possibility of the same in a recent interview.

“I will say something’s in the works. I will say that, but yeah, my mom, she’s the ultimate gatekeeper, which I’m not complaining about. But yeah, it’ll be fun to see something,” Watkins went on to say.

    There you have it folks!

If Watkins decides to launch a hair care line, it’s already got the ultimate stamp of approval. If it is good enough to keep that bun locked in for an entire game, it’s good enough for anyone looking for the perfect slicked-back look.

But before big announcements are made, Watkins has some big games to finish.

Watkins and the USC Trojans are going into their NCAA Tournament run. Their journey will begin in Los Angeles. As the No. 1 seed, USC will tip off against No. 16 UNC Greensboro on March 22 at the Galen Center.

If this goes well, USC will face the winner of California vs. Mississippi State in the second round on March 24.
