Dia Bell, a highly rated five-star quarterback in the 2026 class, remains firmly committed to the Texas Longhorns. Despite drawing interest from elite programs like Alabama, LSU, Florida State, and Ohio State, Bell has stood by his June 17, 2024, pledge to Texas.
The son of former NBA guard Raja Bell, he has earned national recognition for his exceptional abilities on the field. As one of the top quarterback prospects, Bell’s loyalty to Texas reinforces the program’s strong recruiting efforts.

NBA Star Raja Bell’s Son Dia Bell Stays Loyal
Texas secured a significant commitment when Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage five-star quarterback Bell announced his decision on June 17, 2024. Despite persistent interest from powerhouse programs, Bell remains dedicated to the Longhorns nine months later.
Top schools such as Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, and Florida State continue to pursue the 6-foot-3, 190-pound standout. However, Bell has no plans to visit any program other than Texas.
“As of right now, I don’t have any plans to visit anyone besides the University of Texas,” Bell told On3.
While he listens to other schools, Bell’s loyalty to Texas remains firm. He will return to Austin next month, followed by his official visit on June 20. Programs like Ohio State, with new quarterbacks coach Billy Fessler, hope to sway him.
“With LSU, they have a lot of older quarterbacks, so a younger 2026 could come in and hopefully get an opportunity early, but I feel like I have that same opportunity at Texas, so I don’t get phased when I hear that,” Bell explained.
A key factor in his commitment is the coaching stability under Steve Sarkisian and AJ Milwee.
“That’s always exciting for me knowing that we have stability in our coaching staff and all the offensive coaches are the same,” Bell said.
Ranked No. 5 overall and the No. 2 quarterback in 2026 On300, Bell leads the Hellstar 7-on-7 squad at OT7 in Dallas. Returning from injury, he looks forward to showcasing his talent.
