Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman has turned heads with his intense spring break training, significantly increasing his size. He is showcasing his commitment to physical development.
After redshirting his freshman year, Beaman saw limited action in three games, with his most significant snaps coming against Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, where he held his own. Now in his second year, the promising redshirt freshman appears ready to contribute to the Crimson Tide’s defensive front, proving his dedication through rigorous offseason preparation.

Jeremiah Beaman’s Spring Break Work Highlights Alabama’s Defensive Line Needs
Beaman is making waves this spring, weighing 315 pounds while maintaining his athleticism.
The Birmingham native, who arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2024 at 259 pounds, is dedicated to his development, training with Leonard Stephens of Step by Step Sports Training during the Crimson Tide’s spring break. Alabama’s current roster lists Beaman at 312 pounds, and he is poised for an increased role in 2025.

The team’s defensive interior remains an area of concern following the departures of Tim Smith, Jeheim Oatis, and Damon Payne. While Tim Keenan III’s return provides stability, defensive coordinator Kane Wommack has acknowledged the need for additional depth.
Beaman could emerge as Alabama’s next dominant interior pass rusher, a role the team has lacked since Christian Barmore’s 2020 playoff run.
Alabama’s Defensive Line Depth a Key Concern for Kane Wommack
Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack acknowledges Alabama’s need to develop depth along the interior defensive line following key departures. Veteran lineman Smith declared for the NFL Draft, while experienced players Payne and Oatis transferred. As a result, Wommack emphasizes the importance of young talent stepping up.
“I don’t know if I ever feel like I have enough depth on the interior, but it’s certainly an area that I think from a defensive standpoint, it’s probably one of our biggest areas of depth concern,” Wommack said. “Development is the best recipe for that. But certainly, we’ll ensure we address those needs in any way we need to.”
Keenan III, a returning leader, has identified Beaman and Edric Hill as players making notable progress.
