“Jalen Milroe is a good NFL QB coach away from being a PROBLEM. His deficiencies are technique-related. And his talent is otherworldly. The stars have to align some for him, but if they do.”

Milroe’s path to the NFL has been unconventional. Despite starting only 27 games over two seasons as Alabama’s top quarterback, his athleticism stands out. Known for his dynamic rushing ability, Milroe showcased his physical presence at the NFL Scouting Combine. Milroe embraces being underrated.

“I’m cool with being underrated,” he stated at the combine. “I played in the hardest conference in the country… I played against the number one team in the country, the number one defense in the country. If I lack knowledge, I wouldn’t be able to win big games.” Reflecting on his 2023 season, Milroe emphasized his development. “My first year starting, I didn’t lose an SEC game,” he said.

In his Alabama career, Milroe amassed 6,016 passing yards (seventh in program history) and 45 touchdowns (eighth in school history) while completing 64.3% of his passes, one of only nine Alabama quarterbacks to surpass 60% for their career. In 2023, he recorded 2,834 passing yards with 23 touchdowns. The following year, he totaled 2,844 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and an impressive 20 rushing scores.

Milroe remains confident:

“I love everything about it. I know where I’m at today, I’m going to be even better at this time next year. Everything I try and do is for the betterment of the team and not be one-dimensional at all when it comes to physical attributes on the football field.”

Milroe is projected to join the New York Giants in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft as the 65th overall pick, according to Athlon’s latest mock draft. With Colts quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew still battling for a starting role, accuracy remains a challenge for both Milroe and Richardson as they prepare for the next level.
