‘All Good Things Must Come to an End’ — Shedeur Sanders Shares His Take on Life Beyond Deion

Deion “Prime Time” Sanders has coached his son, Shedeur Sanders, throughout his football career, starting at Trinity Christian School in high school and continuing through college at Jackson State and Colorado. Now that Shedeur has declared for the NFL Draft, that chapter is coming to an end.

Many people are curious to see how Shedeur will perform under a new coach, with some even doubting whether he’ll succeed without his father’s guidance. Despite the outside noise, Shedeur has made it clear that he’s been mentally preparing for this moment for a long time and feels confident that he’s ready for the next step.

Shedeur Sanders’ Thoughts on Life Without Deion as His Coach

In his senior year at Colorado, Shedeur had an impressive season, throwing for over 4,100 yards and 37 touchdowns. Alongside Travis Hunter, he played a key role in improving the Buffaloes’ reputation and helping them earn a spot in a bowl game. They faced BYU in the Valero Alamo Bowl, where they came up short in a tough loss.

Due to the foundation they built, top recruits like Julian Lewis have committed to Colorado, further strengthening the program’s future.

In the latest episode of “2 Legendary with Shedeur Sanders,” Sanders talked about why he believes he’ll succeed without his father coaching him.

“Me and pops had a good run, but all good things must come to an end,” he said. “It’s different if you didn’t know it was coming to an end, but I was already mentally ready for this day.”

Sanders’ confidence reflects the preparation and mindset he’s developed over the years under his father’s guidance. Now, he’s ready to take the next step and prove himself at the professional level.

Sanders also shared what type of player the team that drafts him will be getting.

“One, the experience is there,” he said. “What these teams are trying to do—taking a team that’s not so good and making them successful—that’s all I’ve been doing.”

Sanders was reflecting on his impact at both Jackson State and Colorado, where he helped turn both programs into winning teams.

Some people might see Sanders’ confidence as arrogance, but he clearly carries the same self-belief that his father had during his playing days. Like Deion, Shedeur’s confidence comes from years of preparation and proven success.

As he steps into the next chapter of his career, Sanders is ready to show that he can succeed on his own terms.
