The Baylor Bears have one of the better teams in women’s college basketball for many reasons. Perhaps the biggest reason why the Bears are elite is that their team is filled with great scorers.

Talented Scorers
The Baylor team has seven players who have scored over 1,000 points in their college careers.

Guard Jada Walker, guard Aliyah Matharu, guard Sarah Andrews, guard Yaya Felder, forward Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, forward Madison Bartley, and center Aaronette Vonleh have all eclipsed the historic mark.
This Bears team is the only team in the country with seven players who have scored over 1,000 points in their careers.
Littlepage-Buggs is the only junior among the seven, which just goes to show the experience that this team has at its disposal.
While they did come up short in the Big 12 Tournament by losing to the top-seeded TCU Horned Frogs, the sky can still be the limit when it comes to the NCAA Tournament.
A Dangerous Tournament Team
While it is unlikely that head coach Nicki Collen’s team will get a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, that should still give them some extra momentum. As a No. 2 or a No. 3 seed, the Bears won’t have the glamor of a top speed but still can play just as well.
With all of their scorers, opposing teams will have to pay extra attention to the depth of this team, too.
During the regular season, Collen’s team posted an overall record of 27-7 (15-3). They had key wins over West Virginia, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State.
They rarely performed poorly against worse teams, even if they couldn’t always get the big win over the higher-ranked team. After losing in the Big 12 Tournament, they can now focus on preparing for NCAA Tournament play.
With their backs against the wall, the team will get to truly show fans what they are made of after failing to do so in the Big 12 Tournament when they had a chance to win the conference title.
