Duke continues to show its ability to draw attention from high-school prospects. Cameron and Cayden Boozer both signed to the Blue Devils as Duke’s ninth and tenth 5-star commitments, respectively.
The twins already have a collection of accolades behind them, such as winning two gold medals for USA Basketball and three state championships in a row at Christopher Columbus High School. Cameron also won MVP in the FIBA U17 World Cup, and Cayden led that tournament in assists last summer.
But how did the Boozer twins get to where they are now? Their father, Carlos Boozer, has a history of helping his children get to where they are now.
Carlos Boozer’s Basketball Career
Boozer played basketball in college for the Duke Blue Devils. He led the team to win the NCAA Championship in 2001 and got drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2002 with the 35th overall pick.
After playing two seasons with the Cavs, he became a free agent and signed a $70 million, six-year deal with the Utah Jazz. To finish his career, he played four years for the Bulls and one with the Lakers. He finished his NBA career as a two-time All-Star and won a gold medal for Team USA.
Boozer continued his career by playing internationally for two years for the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China.
Carlos Boozer’s Net Worth
Throughout his career, he made over $140 million from the NBA alone and $10-20 million from endorsements. Earlier in his career, he even rented a house to musician Prince for $95,000 per month. However, he has spent much on luxuries such as his home and multiple high-end cars. So Boozer’s net worth now equates to just over $60 million.
Setting Up for the Future
As mentioned earlier, the twin brothers are following in their father’s footsteps by signing with Duke. The two 5-stars have a lot of potential to live up to and a space to fill in as projected No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg will be leaving for the NBA soon.
