With Cooper Flagg showing dominance for the Duke Blue Devils this season, it has to be wondered whether he will head to the NBA after the season ends.
If so, which teams could be interested in drafting him?
Where Could Cooper Flagg Be Drafted?
As it stands right now, the Washington Wizards would likely have the No. 1 overall pick, seeing as they currently have the worst record in the NBA at 11-49 overall.
Adding a 6’9″ player with long arms who can shoot and run the floor at a rare level is something the Wizards desperately need, and frankly, any team in the league could use.
As it stands, Washington’s roster is in a weird position.
They have a couple of older veterans, Khris Middleton, Marcus Smart, and Malcolm Brogdon, under contract.
They also have guard Jordan Poole and last year’s second-overall pick, center Alex Sarr, on the roster. But again, they need to continue to add to their youthful crop of talent, which is why drafting Flagg could be wise.
Other Possible Landing Spots
The Charlotte Hornets are another team that could land Flagg, which would allow Flagg to stay in North Carolina.
Other than LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams, and Brandon Miller, the Hornets don’t have much to work with from their young talent, either. Adding a future NBA All-Star to the mix could be huge.
The Utah Jazz could be a potential spot for Flagg out west. While the Jazz could win the award for most unrecognizable names from the NBA or college, they aren’t close to winning an NBA title anytime soon.

Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, John Collins, Kyle Filipowski, Isaiah Collier, and Johnny Juzang sound like a fun squad, but their 15-46 record is anything but fun. Drafting Flagg would be more than wise if they find themselves in that spot.
But again, who knows if Flagg wants to enter the NBA after the season he has had with the Blue Devils?
Averaging 19.6 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, and shooting nearly 50% from the field, the second-ranked Blue Devils may get him back next season.
