BuffedInPrime’s Tere Calloway shows High Praise for LaJohntay Wester

Calloway, who briefly played defensive back for the Atlanta Falcons, praised Wester in a post on X, calling him the “best route runner in the draft,” adding that Wester constantly gets separation from defenders.

In his first year with Colorado after transferring from Florida Atlantic, Wester had 74 receptions for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns.

College Football Network’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft has Wester going 166th to the Philadelphia Eagles.

CBS Sports Analysts Chris Williamson and Emory Hunt Praise LaJohntay Wester

Hunt and Williamson praised Wester in an NFL Combine recap yesterday.

“People want to pigeonhole him as a slot guy, but when you really study his tape and study how he moves, and then you watch him work out these drills, he is a legit route runner, he can route you up immediately and can win at all levels of the field,” Hunt said.

“What I think is underrated about his game is because he’s a shorter, smaller guy. People think he’s just a jitterbug, but no, he can really get deep down the field. He can win off the line of scrimmage, and can catch the ball with his hands consistently through traffic, and also as a RAC guy.” He added.

“I thought he had the most impressive day [at the NFL Combine]. I knew about his game, but I’m glad the world got to see in totality what LaJohntay Wester is all about.”

Williamson said Wester ‘can ball’ and has ‘a lot of talent.’
