Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. spoke positively on how Shedeur and Deion Sanders helped his career ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jimmy Horn Thanks Coach Prime for Bolstering His Football Career
Deion took over Colorado in the summer of 2023, making it his mission to get the football program back amongst the best in the country.
Alongside his son Shedeur and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, Horn transferred from USF, and it worked out for everyone involved. Colorado was a much-improved team in 2024, but Horn did miss some time as he saw his numbers drop slightly to 37 receptions, 441 yards, and just one touchdown, compared to 58 receptions, 567 yards, and six touchdowns in 2023. Despite that, Horn’s talent is clear to see.
Recently, Horn was very complimentary of Deion and Shedeur leading up to the combine.

“We have a great relationship, it’s like a father and son relationship,” Horn said about Deion. “I met coach in high school and so that was why I made the big decision to go to Colorado as I had a connection with him. He has always been a man of his word to me and I love that man to death.”
Speaking on his QB, Horn said, “Shedeur is a great teammate in the huddle. If you don’t know something he will help you out. Off the field, he would help you out, he can help break film down with you.”
How Do Horn’s Draft Prospects Look?
At 5-foot-9, Horn could be a real threat in all facets of the game at the next level.
Horn’s track and field background comes into play, as his straight-line speed and acceleration allow him to take the top off of coverage. He also still possesses great route-running and separation in the shorter passing game. On top of that, he is dangerous after the catch, with nice stop-start ability that can make him a real option in the screen game and RPO schemes.
He’s also shown promise as a kick returner, something teams are always looking for. And with Horn expected to be drafted late, that could be a role he lands early on for an NFL team.
CSN’s recent 7-round NFL Mock Draft sees Horn being selected at pick 232 by the San Francisco 49ers. Kyle Shanahan is a coach who loves offensive weapons that are good in both the run and pass game. With Deebo Samuel requesting a trade and Ricky Pearsall hoping to step up in his second NFL season, throwing Horn and his speed into the mix will give Shanahan a lot of flexibility when scheming up offensively.
