The college football landscape changes every year, with new teams emerging as powerhouses as each decade turns. While winning percentage doesn’t mean everything, it is a telltale sign of which teams are on the rise.

Top 10 Teams With the Highest Winning Percentage Since 2021
1) Georgia Bulldogs 91.4%
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, as Georgia has won two national championships since 2021 under head coach Kirby Smart. Smart has turned Georgia into a powerhouse that is consistently competing for titles. It makes sense for the best team of the decade so far to be number one in this metric
2) Michigan Wolverines 85.7%
When you’re talking about winning percentage, a 15-0 national championship season certainly boosts that, which is the main reason the Wolverines come in at two on this list. However, it wasn’t just 2023 that Michigan was dominant. Since 2021, they’ve also won three Big Ten championships.
3) Ohio State Buckeyes 85.5%
The Ohio State Buckeyes are fresh off their national championship-winning season, during which they won 14 games. But overall, since 2021, it’s no secret that the Buckeyes have been a top-tier college football program being in the mix every year.
T-4) Alabama Crimson Tide 81.8%
While the Crimson Tide have not won a national championship since 2020, from 2021 on, they’ve still been a top-tier program. Appearing in two college football playoffs and winning two SEC championships. It’s not the dominance that we’re used to from Alabama, but they still are damn good.
T-4) Oregon Ducks 81.8%
Oregon’s tie for fourth on this list makes a lot of sense. The Ducks had major success in the Pac-12 from 2021-2023, followed by a Big Ten title in their first year with the conference. Since Dan Lanning took over in 2022, the Ducks have consistently been in the upper echelon of college football programs.
6) JMU Dukes 75.7%
This gets a little skewed because JMU has only played three seasons as an FBS team. However, since joining the Sun Belt, the Dukes have only had one season (2024) with a winning percentage under 70 percent. Not to mention that Curt Cignetti led the Dukes to an 11-2 record in 2023.
7) Ole Miss Rebels 75%
While Ole Miss hasn’t made a college football playoff, let alone won an SEC title, it has consistently produced winning and competitive teams since 2021. The Rebels aren’t a top-tier program like Alabama or Georgia, but they haven’t done a whole lot of losing since 2021.
8) Penn State 74.6%
Penn State is basically like the Ole Miss of the Big Ten. They don’t win conference titles and aren’t as good as Ohio State or Michigan, but they are consistently competitive and don’t put together losing seasons. However, Penn State is on the rise after making a run to the semifinals in their first-ever college football playoff appearance in 2024.
9) Clemson Tigers 74.1%
Clemson isn’t the Clemson of old, but they’ve still won two ACC championships since 2021 and stay competitive. The Tigers will always have winning seasons under Dabo Swinney, so it’s not a surprise that they make this list.
10 UTSA Roadrunners 72.2%
This one came as a surprise, but when you look at what UTSA accomplished in 2021 and 2022, it’s not as shocking.

The Roadrunners went a combined 23-5 in those two seasons, winning a Conference USA title in both of them. In 2023, UTSA moved to the American and saw less success, but they have still been good enough to sneak into tenth.
