The addition of veteran quarterback and Boston College transfer Thomas Castellanos has been a boon for the Florida State Seminoles.
No player put that into perspective better than wide receiver Duce Robinson, who recently had the chance to speak very highly about his new QB.

Duce Robinson’s Admiration for Thomas Castellanos
While speaking with insider Logan B. Robinson, Robinson talked about how great of an impact Castellanos has made so far on the program after transferring to Tallahassee.
“Tommy is incredible. He’s one of the reasons why I came here. He’s been great … It’s really like a brotherhood.”

Robinson transferred from USC this offseason and decided to come to Florida State seemingly because of Castellanos.
Together, the two appear to have formed a very strong bond and are excited for the 2025 season.
After an extremely disappointing 2024 season that saw the Seminoles finish with a 2-10 record just a year off from going undefeated and nearly making the College Football Playoff, the hopes around the program appear to be in a much better place.
What Castellanos Brings to FSU
In today’s college football, having a veteran quarterback never hurts if you truly want to be a successful team. Castellanos brings experience as he enters his fourth season as a college quarterback.
He spent 2022 at UCF before transferring to be the starter at Boston College. Despite tossing just 15 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions in 2023, he threw for 2,248 yards and ran for a whopping 1,113 yards on the ground.
Last season, he improved as a decision-maker, completing 61.5% of his passes (up from (57.3% the year before) and throwing 18 TDs to just five INTs. Florida State head coach Mike Norvell is getting a dual-threat quarterback who knows the ACC really well.

Castellanos also helped the Eagles win seven games, which is not always the case with a program that has struggled to win on a consistent basis for years.
Because of his abilities and experience, Castellanos makes this team a true wild card, and he should help them become much more formidable overall after a disappointing 2024 season.
