Hoosier Faux Pas: Indiana Photoshops Fernando Mendoza Onto Grant Wilson’s Body

New Indiana Hoosiers QB Fernando Mendoza’s head was mistakenly placed on Grant Wilson’s body on the team website.

When Indiana released its official 2025 football roster, fans expected to see new faces. They didn’t expect one of those faces to be pasted onto the wrong body.

In a baffling blunder, the Hoosiers’ graphics team photoshopped quarterback Fernando Mendoza’s head onto fellow quarterback Grant Wilson’s body. The mistake quickly went viral, leaving fans wondering how such an error even happened.

Indiana Photoshops Fernando Mendoza’s Head on Grant Wilson’s Body

The shenanigan by Indiana’s designers was spotted by the fans on Jan. 30, 2025. While Mendoza’s face appeared in the team’s official image, the body clearly belonged to Wilson.

The jersey number had been altered from Wilson’s No. 7 to Mendoza’s No. 15, but everything else—from the build to the stance—remained unmistakably Wilson’s. This raised several questions.

The blunder comes as Mendoza is set to take on a major role for the Hoosiers. After transferring from Cal, he brings solid credentials, having thrown for over 3,000 yards last season.

His arrival is crucial for Indiana, which lost both its starting and backup quarterbacks from last year. Mendoza is the frontrunner to take the starting job, making his introduction to the roster even more significant. Unfortunately, his first impression came with an unintentional comedic twist.

Social media had a field day with the situation, with some fans joking that if Photoshop was necessary, using Mendoza’s brother Alberto—who is also on the team—might have made for a more believable edit.

Others pointed out how chaotic the transfer portal era has become, with even team graphics departments struggling to keep up with roster changes.

Mendoza has yet to comment on the mistake, and no reactions have been seen on his social media. Regardless, Indiana will likely correct the error soon.

Until then, this bizarre Photoshop fail will remain an amusing reminder that the details matter even in college football.
