Despite being early in his college career, Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway is already giving back to the community and beyond. On Monday, Feb. 17, the rising sophomore announced the official launch of the DJ Lagway Foundation.
The Launch of the DJ Lagway Foundation
Ahead of his sophomore season at Florida, where he will become a full-time starter, Lagway shared a special update to his Instagram handle. The quarterback announced the inauguration of his foundation in collaboration with UF Health.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the quarterback announced to commemorate the launch of his foundation on March 10.
“I’m incredibly excited to announce the launch of the DJ Lagway Foundation in partnership with UF Health,” Lagway wrote.
“This initiative is an important opportunity for me to give back to the community I love. I will officially launch the Foundation with a Kickoff Dinner on Monday, March 10th at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille.”

The campaign begins with a celebratory event on March 10 at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille. The event will include dinner, a silent auction, and the opportunity for fans to meet and greet Lagway and other notable Gator athletes.
The revenues from this evening will go directly to UF Health’s community activities, which include wellness drives, health screening initiatives, and physical education outreach.

A Game-Changer on and off the Field
Lagway is establishing a name for himself in the collegiate football world with his on-field heroics. Following his recent statement, the quarterback also intended to give back to society. The scheduled launch of his foundation underlines his dedication to the community.
The quarterback attended Willis High School, where he sharpened his skills and became a five-star recruit. Following his productive true freshman campaign in 2024, Lagway confronts high expectations for the next season.
RISING STAR: DJ Lagway’s NIL Valuation
In 12 total appearances with seven starts, Lagway passed for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns to nine interceptions. As a starter, Lagway went 6’1″, with his lone defeat coming in the Georgia game, which he did not finish due to injury.
The Gators are currently in offseason preparation, with spring camp expected to begin next month. The 2025 spring game will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m. Florida’s 2025 season begins on Aug. 30 at home against Long Island.
