Swinney’s family-like approach to acquiring good players for the program is part of the reason why the Tigers have been able to adapt to the times. During Swinney’s 16-year tenure, the Tigers have won 10+ games 13 times, two national titles, and nine ACC titles.
This can be attributed to the school and coach’s ability to roll along with the times, regardless of whether or not they are using the transfer portal or not to build their team up.
What Clemson Can Accomplish in 2025
This team might be flying under the radar at the start of next season. Although this isn’t the same team that has an elite NFL quarterback prospect at the helm as they have had in the past, they are quietly one of the top teams in America.
After getting the doors blown off of them by Georgia to start the year last year, they regained their footing and went on to make the ACC Championship Game.
They defeated SMU in that game on a last-second field goal to clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Although they were eliminated in the first round by Texas, it was a quality season for Swinney and Co. considering they were able to save themselves from what could have happened early on.
Now, as they look toward the 2025 season, the Tigers’ star quarterback is back for another year. Anytime a 10-win team gets their star quarterback back for one more run, they could be a very dangerous out.
Contending for a spot in the College Football Playoff should certainly be the goal at minimum for the Tigers after how last season went.
