The 19-year-old phenom is getting paid handsomely while he balls out in Columbus for the Buckeyes. According to On3, the value of Smith’s NIL deals currently sits at $4.0 million.
The major companies that Smith has signed deals with so far have been Nintendo, Epic Games, and Red Bull. He also has partnered with clothing companies such as American Eagle Outfitters and Lululemon.

In terms of players who have either not yet been drafted to the NFL or are still in college, Smith is among the highest paid out there.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning, despite not fully starting until likely the 2025 season, is earning $6.5 million in NIL money. As a senior, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders earned over $5.0 million in NIL money this past season. The value of Alabama standout wide receiver Ryan Williams’ NIL deals currently stands at $2.7 million.
With Smith making what he is making off of deals, he is right in the thick of the race for being the highest-paid player in college football.
For Smith to rightfully earn that money, he had to truly back it up with his play.
The teenager did that and much more as he was named the Big Ten Receiver of the Year en route to helping the Bucks secure that aforementioned national title. Smith caught 76 passes for 1,315 yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns in 16 games played for head coach Ryan Day.
