Nick Singleton’s Return: A Commitment to the Team
Nick Singleton announced his decision on social media in January, just days after Penn State’s season ended in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
“After discussing my football future with my family, I have decided to return to Penn State for the 2025 season,” Singleton said in an Instagram post.
Singleton’s decision to return to Happy Valley for a fourth season is exciting news for the Nittany Lions, who hope to make another College Football Playoff run.
He and co-starting tailback Kaytron Allen, who also confirmed his return decision, became the first pair of PSU running backs to both rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season.
Since signing with Penn State in 2022, Singleton, a Gatorade National Player of the Year, has been an integral part of the program’s success. In three seasons, he has tallied 2,912 yards, 768 receiving yards, and 41 total touchdowns.
Singleton had a less fruitful sophomore season, rushing for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. However, after struggling with a persistent midseason injury in 2024, he recovered to prime form down the stretch. He finished 2024 with 1,099 yards and 12 touchdowns.
“We have accomplished a lot here, and we took another big step forward this season. But we know we are capable of being even better,” Singleton wrote on social media.
