Carson Beck, the former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback, has made headlines with his recent transfer to the Miami Hurricanes, which was preceded by an enormous NIL agreement. According to The Athletic and CBS Sports reports, Beck’s NIL deals with Miami are worth millions of dollars for one year of play.
Breaking Down Carson Beck’s NIL Deal with Miami
As the old adage says, “Money talks!” Miami just silenced Georgia with a massive NIL deal that is around $3-4 million for one year of play from the former Bulldogs signal-caller. After signing this huge contract, Carson Beck packed his stuff, grabbed his millions, and moved to Miami, stunning Bulldog fans.
This contract is worth over double the $1.6 million Cam Ward was supposedly paid for the 2024 season. Still, Beck’s agent, Dan Everett, explained in an interview with CBS Sports that the quarterback isn’t done expanding his brand value.
“As one of the premier faces of college football NIL, we expect his brand portfolio to continue expanding with premium and national brands,” he said. “Carson will prioritize teammate-inclusive partnerships that include charitable components.”

Beck’s decision to move to Miami and join the Hurricanes was influenced by many factors, including his rehabilitation from elbow surgery and an ambition to improve his draft prospects for the 2026 NFL Draft. The substantial NIL agreement given by Miami’s collective, Canes Connection, was obviously also another important element in his decision.
Beck underwent surgery in late December to repair the damaged ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. Because of this, he did not play in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. Georgia issued a statement following Beck’s surgery that he will recover completely and be able to practice again by the spring.
Beck arrived on Miami’s campus recently, but coaches have yet to announce a timeline for when Beck will begin practicing.
On Monday, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal referenced Beck’s recovery timeline. He stated, “You know, the sooner, the better. I know we went through examinations yesterday, and everything’s ahead of schedule.” If Beck continues to heal properly, he might even see some reps in Miami’s spring game.
The Hurricanes are hoping Beck can emulate Ward’s 2024 season, in which he was a Heisman Trophy finalist and ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
Beck’s transfer also reunites him with his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, a Miami women’s basketball team guard and a well-known social media personality.
