‘Solid Hire’ – Fans Hyped Up As Former NFL OC Ryan Grubb Joins Alabama Crimson Tide

Several Alabama fans find Ryan Grubb as great hire to lead the offense following his brief stint with Seattle Seahawks.

The latest coach to join the wave of NFL to college football was Ryan Grubb, the offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks in 2024. He joins Kalen DeBoer’s staff at the Alabama Crimson Tide as their next offensive coordinator.

Grubb and DeBoer have previously worked together with the Washington Huskies. He is marked as a big hire for Alabama, which missed making the College Football Playoff in 2024.

Fans Approve Alabama’s Decision To Bring On Ryan Grubb

When the news of the latest development in Tuscaloosa went on social media, fans couldn’t resist but to give opinions, with the majority of them finding Grubb a great hire.

“The crew is back together in Tuscaloosa! Let’s go!” one fan commented.

    “Solid hire,” another wrote.

“Happy for Coach Grubb. Will def make an impact,” another added.

“What took them so long ffs? This was a slam dunk,” another fan added.

“They’ll be really good if they can load up the WR room. That’s the key to a Grubb offense. Already have a good start with Williams,” one fan expects things out of Bama in 2025.

“He will do an amazing job in college. Especially after a year of learning in the NFL. Also, not having Milroe will help,” another fan reacted.

    Ryan Grubb’s Coaching History

Grubb started as an offensive coordinator at Kingsley-Pierson High School (2003-04) before going to the collegiate ranks at South Dakota State (2005-06), where he coached running backs and wide receivers.

At the University of Sioux Falls (2007-13), he played a key role in the team’s offensive success, first as an offensive line coach and run game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Grubb moved to Eastern Michigan in 2014, focusing on offensive line development, before joining Fresno State in various roles, including associate head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach.

His success at Fresno State (2017-21) led to a high-profile role at Washington, where he was the associate head coach and offensive coordinator. The Huskies even played the CFB Championship against Michigan but fell short.

Most would be unaware about this but Grubb was part of DeBoer’s staff to join Alabama before he backed off and joined the Seahawks.
