UNC HC Bill Belichick Announces May Release of Book ‘The Art of Winning’

Bill Belichick recently stated that during his nearly 50 years of coaching, he hasn't stopped learning. And now he's channeled that into a book, due to release this summer.

Bill Belichick has been busy this offseason. After taking over as the new head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, Belichick has also officially announced the launch date for his new book.

The book, titled “The Art of Winning: Lessons From a Life in Football,” will be released just after spring practices.

Bill Belichick: Dynasty Head Coach Who Is a Student of the Game

Belichick gained the most notoriety as the head coach of the New England Patriots, winning six Super Bowls and pairing with Tom Brady to pair one of the greatest head coach-quarterback duos in the sport’s illustrious history.

His 303 regular season wins for his NFL career (third all-time in the NFL for a head coach) and 333 victories when you include the playoffs trail only Don Shula (347) for the most in league history.

Belichick recently stated that he never stopped learning through the journey.

“My life in football over the last 49+ years involved a lot of winning, losing, and more than anything: learning,” Belichick posted on social media.

“My hope with this book is that you learn about what I learned in the NFL about sustained success, leadership, and what it means to be a team player.”

Bill Parcells made Belichick his Defensive Coordinator in 1985

His coaching apprenticeship began in 1975 when he first worked for the Baltimore Colts. He then won two Super Bowls with the legendary Bill Parcells and the New York Giants and had stops in Cleveland and New England.

He was with the New York Jets for one day before beginning his ascent to the top with New England.

When Belichick took the Patriots’ job in 2000, it’s safe to assume most didn’t believe his tenure would include 17 AFC East division titles, 13 appearances in the AFC Championship, and nine Super Bowl appearances, including six wins.

His coaching legacy is closely tied to his relationship with Brady, whom he coached for 20 years. Brady won three MVP awards and six Super Bowls in New England while with Belichick.

Now, his new team, the Tar Heels, is hoping he will lead them to glory after a recent 6-7 season. They’ll have some great reading material to get themselves started this summer as Belichick announced a May release date for his book.

It’s safe to assume that his players may get a sneak peek at the book before that.
