In an attempt to woo one of the best players in the 2026 recruiting class, North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick visited the home of Jared Curtis on Monday, Jan 27.
Believe the North Carolina-Jared Curtis Hype
Curtis did not include the Tar Hells in his top six, preferring the Oregon Ducks, Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He was the Tennesse Football Player of the Year, led Nashville Christian to the TSSAA Division II-A state title, and had a 13-1 record in 14 games last season. He threw for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 637 yards and an additional 18 scores.
Curtis will travel to Tuscaloosa on Feb. 1 for the Alabama Crimson Tide’s Junior Day.
Curtis told On3, “Coach Sheridan and Coach DeBoer, I feel like they showed what they can do in their first year. They keep getting top-five recruiting classes, and they have the guys around.”
The Crimson Tide do have Keelon Russell at quarterback, and Curtis already told On3’s Chad Simmons, “I’ll wait until official visits to make my decision,”
Curtis will visit Oregon, Georgia, and South Carolina in June this year.
Curtis has 38 offers from some of the schools we mentioned above. Georgia’s Mike Bobo also visited Curtis, and the Dawgs saw 36 players head to the transfer portal. The highly sought-after QB had also de-committed from the school.

North Carolina was 6-0 over the first half of the season, but they struggled in the second half, winning two of six to finish with an 8-4 record. Sophomore running back Omarion Hampton rushed for 1,442 yards and got a second-team All-America nod.
It remains to be seen if Belichick can summon all his magic to snag Curtis and have him suit up for the Tar Heels. It would be a massive scoop for the program if he can.
