Notre Dame football is recognized as a legendary program, as it prepares its players for the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday night, Jan. 20.
The Fighting Irish are one of the top teams in college football once again, coached by head coach Marcus Freeman. In his third season at the helm, the 39-year-old has become one of the most appreciated coaches in the nation. Recently, he received praise from a college football legend.
CFB HOF LB Brian Urlacher Heaps Praise on Marcus Freeman
College Football Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher, whose son Kennedy plays for Notre Dame, praised Freeman’s leadership for leading the team to success for so many years.
“He’s the face of college football right now. … It’s amazing how far he’s come,” Urlacher said in an appearance on ESPN 1000 in Chicago. “His ascent to the top has been quick”

Notre Dame will play Ohio State in the College Football Playoff final on Monday, Jan. 20 in Atlanta. It will definitely be a tough call, but the Fighting Irish will not back down.
Will Freeman Outsmart Ryan Day in the Big Game?
Up until now, Freeman hadn’t won a single game against Ohio State coach Ryan Day. On Monday night, Freeman will try to break their losing streak in their third straight season facing each other.
Even with his wins over Freeman, Day said they respect him and the success he has brought to his country.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Notre Dame, and certainly what Marcus has done there,” Day said. “I think they’re a gritty group, they’re a tough group. They’re a great program, and the last two years have been a battle playing against them, and we know it’s going to be the same way every year with a different group of guys in a different situation. This is a different situation. It’ll be the same way.”
So, on Monday, both Freeman and Day’s teams will be on the field, but only one will win the title. Let’s see whose coaching will work out this time as the two coaches pursue their first titles as head coaches.
