Carson Beck followed the money all the way to the Miami Hurricanes, where he can be with his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, who happens to play on the women’s basketball team. A new report sheds light on the opportunities the quarterback turned down to make the move.
Reports Suggest Carson Beck Had Multiple Opportunities Ahead of Move To the Miami Hurricanes
According to the report from college football journalist Matt Hayes, quarterback Beck had the opportunity to return to the Georgia Bulldogs and assume his starting position for his final season of college football, or he could have transferred to the Alabama Crimson Tide and replaced Jalen Milroe, who left for the NFL Draft.
REPORT: Georgia wanted Carson Beck to return for the 2025 season after entering the Transfer Portal, per @MattHayesCFB.

Beck spent the last five seasons at Georgia, becoming the Bulldogs starting quarterback in 2023. He has appeared in 39 games throughout his college career, throwing for a total of 7,912 yards, 58 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.
Look for those numbers to dramatically increase in offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson’s Air Raid offense, as Beck follows in the footsteps of possible No. 1 pick Cam Ward.
Ward left the Washington State Cougars for the NFL at the end of the 2023 campaign but returned to college after receiving suboptimal feedback on his NFL Draft grades. It paid off in spades, with some viewing the electric dual-threat as the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class.
Beck announced his intentions to turn pro on Dec. 28, but after receiving similar feedback, shocked the college football world with his decision to enter the college football transfer portal. He was not projected as an early-round pick, while the former Georgia quarterback is also recovering from Tommy John surgery on his elbow, from an injury sustained in the SEC Championship Game.
Rumor has it the Miami collective is paying Beck between $3 million and $4 million for his senior season. With other endorsement opportunities, he can make upwards of $10 million this calendar year. Some of his endorsement deals are with Beats by Dre, Powerade, Chipolte, and Airstar Charter. The $10 million figure would make Beck the highest-paid player in NCAA history.
