Two of college football’s biggest stars are heading to the next level. The draft will take place in Green Bay; will Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders be there to shake the commissioner’s hand?
Colorado Buffaloes’ Star Duo Will Be in Boulder, Not Green Bay, for NFL Draft
The NFL Draft green room is the space where some of the biggest stars in college football occupy each year. A bunch of circular tables, the NFL prospect is usually surrounded by family, a select number of friends, and their agent.
The lights and cameras increase each and every year, but that’s part of the fun, showcasing the brightest young stars fulfilling their lifelong dream and entering the NFL.
The top of the 2025 NFL Draft features arguably less highly recognizable prospects than in years past; however, a couple of notable prospects won’t be attending in person.
The greenroom in Green Bay will not be occupied by two of the brightest stars in the game: the Colorado Buffaloes’ duo, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, will be back home.
In an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Colorado head coach Deion Sanders said that Sanders and Hunter will instead celebrate the draft with Colorado’s coaches, staff, and students.
“We want to celebrate with our people. With our folks, with our wonderful student body,” Coach Prime said.
The draft will miss both of them and Coach Prime. All three are more than comfortable in front of the camera — something the NFL Network and ESPN surely would’ve loved to have in person. However, that won’t happen.
In CFN’s most recent 2025 NFL mock draft by Kade Nix, Hunter is projected to be the first overall pick. Instead of walking up on stage and shaking NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s hand, Hunter will be in Boulder, Colo., celebrating with the Colorado program.
With Sanders mocked second overall, we may see a class where each of the first two picks will not be present in person — a rarity in the modern NFL Draft era.
