Sometimes, college football’s bowl season gives a gift to you that you didn’t expect. And during the StaffDNA Cure Bowl pitting the Ohio Bobcats vs. the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, that was exactly the case.
WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner made an appearance on the sidelines and outlined the plan for his son and current Jacksonville State WR Brock Rechsteiner to turn pro following his college football playing days.
Brock Rechsteiner to Go Pro in WWE?
Rechsteiner had largely flown under the radar this season for Jacksonville State. Entering the bowl game against Ohio, Rechsteiner had caught 13 passes for 205 yards and two scores for the Gamecocks.

But after his famous bloodline appeared on the sidelines, it’s safe to say this is the last quiet moment you’ll see from Rechsteiner. That is, of course, if he and his dad’s plan comes to fruition.

Speaking on the ESPN broadcast, Rechsteiner’s father — Scott Steiner — spoke about whether or not his son will follow in his footsteps.
“Yes, that’s the plan,” Steiner said. “I mean, that’s what he wants to do, so whatever makes him happy.”
Steiner followed that up by answering the question of just when we could potentially see Rechsteiner in the WWE halls when asked how he became a legend himself.
“Be a genetic freak like myself,” Steiner joked. “It takes a of work, I did it for like 25 years, it takes a while.”
It wasn’t just his father on the sidelines sporting the WWE fame as Rechsteiner’s cousin and current WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker also spoke on the matter. When asked about what it meant to see his cousin living out his dream on the college football playing field, Bronson himself was taken aback by his family member living out his dream.
“It’s cool just to come out here and watch Brock perform, I was a football player myself once upon a time, so it’s cool to just be out here, watching football and seeing my cousin, it’s great,” Bronson said.
Bronson, a current WWE star, was asked about how football correlates to the WWE ring. And spoke highly of how Brock’s current skills can move seamlessly over.
“I think physicality is first and foremost what translates the most,” Bronson said. “There’s so many things that go into it, but I think football and, obviously wrestling, are the top two sports that translate over to what we do.”
“Obviously it’s in his blood, it’s family blood, it’s the family business, so I think he’s going to take to it very well.”
Sky’s the Limit for Brock Rechsteiner in the WWE
With his skills set to translate over to the WWE ring, Rechsteiner’s father wasn’t shy at all about how his son could successfully make the transition from gridiron to the squared circle.
“He’s a good athlete, so, the sky’s the limit for him,” Steiner said. “I’ll help him out any way I can.”

But as quickly as the conversation had started on the broadcast, television scripts don’t get too much better than Rechsteiner making a highlight-reel catch during his father’s interview. In a surreal moment, Brock leaped for a first-down reception while his father was explaining how the sky was the limit for his son in the wrestling ring.
“I’m happy for him, watching him fulfill his childhood dreams,” Steiner said. “Once football’s over, he’s going to become a great wrestler.”
