With a NIL valuation of $6.2 million, Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders happens to be one of the richest college athletes. His famed upbringing as NFL legend Deion Sanders’ son and the new NIL era has transformed the NCAA overall.
In a recent episode of his 2Legendary podcast, the Colorado QB talked about his draft plans before revealing how Coach Prime buys him suits for big occasions.
Shedeur Sanders Sets Record Straight About His 2025 NFL Draft Plans
Coming off an exciting Heisman ceremony in New York cheering for teammate and friend Travis Hunter, Shedeur has once again become a talking point in NFL Draft chatter. All eyes are on him as analysts and insiders anticipate him to go off the board early.
Regardless of his current status, Shedeur is crystal clear about his plans — he wants to get drafted before his dad. While speaking on the most recent edition of his 2Legendary podcast, Shedeur spoke about his future and made an honest admission about his dad looking out for him.
“My main goal is to just get drafted before dad did. So that’s it. I just gotta have my one-up on him at that time,” Shedeur said with a big smile.
When discussing whether his dad actually buys him suits, the QB admitted the claims proudly: “Yes, he bought my suit. He’s put me on a better path, you know, some things, I’m just not, I wasn’t ready for, you know,” he added.

His suit story caught the spotlight when Shedeur went shopping at Nike stores in New York during the eve of the Heisman ceremony. He got a call from Coach Prime where he mentioned having ordered a suit for his son.
The clip went viral and grabbed the attention of fans and analysts.
Sanders Didn’t Make Heisman Finalists Despite Massive Season
This year’s ceremony turned out to be a big win for Colorado as a program. Hunter, who won the title, is the first player from Colorado to receive this honor since Rashaan Salaam in 1994.
However, it was quite surprising for fans that Shedeur didn’t even make the final list of contenders.

Hunter’s success had a great contribution from Shedeur, who led Colorado with 3,926 passing yards and 35 touchdown throws with a completion rate of 74.2%. Regardless, his draft stock has been rising ever since, and the QB will suit up for one last time against Baylor (Alamo Bowl) on Dec. 28.
