Top West Virginia Players Not Playing in Frisco Bowl
Thanks to the CFN Bowl Game Opt-Out Tracker, we know which players from the Mountaineers won’t be in action in the Frisco Bowl.
- Jaylen Anderson, RB, West Virginia (transfer portal)
- Josiah Trotter, LB, West Virginia (transfer portal)
- TJ Crandall, CB, West Virginia (transfer portal)
- Tyler Evans, WR, West Virginia (transfer portal)
- Will Dixon, TE, West Virginia (transfer portal)
- Bryce Biggs, iOL, West Virginia (transfer portal)

- Raleigh Collins III, DB, West Virginia (transfer portal)
West Virginia is in a completely different spectrum than Memphis for the Frisco Bowl. While Memphis lost just one defensive starter’s worth of playing time, the Mountaineers will be without multiple impact players.
Josiah Trotter is the biggest loss in this game as he recorded 93 total tackles and four sacks this season. TJ Crandall played in a rotation for the Mountaineers and in an era where depth will always be a concern in bowl games, his loss should be felt as well.
On offense, Jaylen Anderson spelled Jahiem White and CJ Donaldson this season, but was a valuable asset in blocking situations for this offense. But, on offense, WVU’s success will be largely tied to how healthy Garrett Greene is in this game.
