    What Happened to Trevor Etienne?

At halftime in the Nov. 9 contest against the Florida Gators, news broke that Etienne was dealing with a rib injury and attempted to play through it.

Despite the initial optimism, he didn’t return to action, leaving the Bulldogs to rely on a committee approach at running back. True freshman Mark Frazier carried much of the load from the second quarter onward as fans speculated about Etienne’s status.

There were no clear signs on the broadcast of when or how the injury occurred. After the game, head coach Kirby Smart confirmed it was a rib injury and noted it didn’t seem too severe.

Etienne finished the day with seven carries for 31 yards before heading to the locker room just before halftime.

Since then, the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars star RB Travis Etienne has missed three games.

When asked about Etienne and defensive tackle Christen Miller’s health on Thursday, Smart kept it brief.

“They’ve been taking part in some parts of practice and taking reps and, you know, hopeful that those guys are able to do something,” the Bulldogs head coach said. “You know, they’re both listed as questionable right now. All right, next question.”
