The Bowling Green Falcons are fighting to a berth in the MAC Championship Game against Miami on Friday afternoon. Despite opening as favorites, the Falcons will certainly need all the help they can get to punch their postseason ticket.
However, after pre-game warm-ups came and went, star tight end Harold Fannin Jr. was nowhere to be found.
What Happened to Harold Fannin?
As of right now, Fannin’s injury has been completely undisclosed from head coach Scott Loefler and the Bowling Green staff. Fannin was listed on their injury report with such a designation and Loefler wouldn’t answer when asked about it this week.

Specifically, Loefler was asked directly about the injury to Fannin, and to the question ‘can you talk about what Fannin’s injury was,’ Loefler had this to say:
“No, I’m not sharing that with anyone.”
The Canton, OH, native has been a star in every game for the Falcons this season, hauling in at least four receptions in every outing. He’s hauled in 92 receptions for 1,295 yards and nine touchdowns. Fannin leads the nation in receiving yards this season, not just among tight ends, but among all pass-catchers.
His injury designation comes as a bit of a surprise as he entered Week 14 off a 9-catch, 125-yard outing against Ball State on Saturday.
However, Fannin did leave the game against Ball State a bit early after apparently taking a hard fall following a 37-yard reception. When looking back at the tape, the play in question is below. Even if Fannin returned to the sidelines with his helmet, he didn’t take a snap after this play.
This play is Harold Fannin in a nutshell.
Just unstoppable after the catch. Brings him to 9/125/1 on the day.
He went to the locker room after. Hope it’s just a precaution. pic.twitter.com/KmaG1af0gm

As of right now, that’s just speculation, but that hard hit on the ground would lead to believe that is the culprit for Fannin’s potential absence.
Is Harold Fannin Playing Today?
With Bowling Green in the hunt for a berth in the MAC Championship Game, all eyes are on their outing against Miami in Week 14. Unfortunately, following pre-game warm-ups, it’s clear that Fannin is reeling from the injury.
According to reports on the ground, Fannin was originally not seen during pre-game warm-ups. However, those reports were then clouded by reports of him being on the field during a different session with just the tight ends.

Following that, however, this bit of news came in:
Tight ends and receivers just took the field for warmups – no Harold Fannin Jr. in sight.

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, however, put the dispute to rest ahead of the game, stating that Fannin will play.
