The Texas A&M Aggies ultimately fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 10, but still found themselves in the thick of the race for the SEC Championship. With their focus shifting to the remaining games this season, all eyes pointed toward the health of star RB Le’Veon Moss.
The latest update following Week 10 provided a bit of a silver lining.
What Happened to Le’Veon Moss?
The Aggies found themselves down two possessions early to the Gamecocks but were starting to gain traction with their running backs. On a 1st & 10 play from their own 25, Moss took a swing pass from Marcel Reed up the sidelines.
With a lot of room to run, Moss hit his top speed along the sidelines but violently collided with South Carolina DB DQ Smith.

Moss immediately seemed to motion for assistance, and the broadcast cut out, with him lying on the ground.
The injury didn’t look good, to put it plainly, and Moss was replaced by Amari Daniels. However, following the game, head coach Mike Elko provided a potentially positive update.
“Obviously, Le’Veon is a great back,” Elko stated in his postgame comments. “Not having him in was tough, we’ll see. I don’t think it looks real good right now, but I don’t think it maybe looks as bad as it might have on the field.”
“So, hopefully it’s not one of those awful ones, but I do think he’ll be out for a while.”
Elko skirted around the timetable for his return as the Aggies will have Moss assessed by team doctors as early as Sunday back in Texas.
Entering the game against South Carolina, Moss had rushed for 757 yards and 10 touchdowns, while averaging well over six yards per carry. He is currently undergoing a career year with Texas A&M and put himself on the NFL Draft radar in the process.
Daniels rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown in Moss’ place against South Carolina. EJ Smith was also featured heavily once Moss exited. Smith ran it eight times for 15 yards, his most touches since he transferred in after four seasons with Stanford.
