On Oct. 24, EA Sports delivered College Football 25’s fourth title update of the year, and the patches were immense. From new players to new uniforms to gameplay updates, here are the biggest changes coming to arguably the biggest game of the year.
CFB 25 Update: 700 New Players in the Game
For every patch detailed in the update, check out EA Sports’ Campus Huddle post. Every “little” change is worthy of attention, specifically the developers reducing the frequency of pitches out of tackles missing the pitch back, but these are the most significant.
CFB 25 received an influx of 718 new NIL players, including Miami EDGE Tyler Baron, who was noticeably missing on the initial roster. It’s important to note that the updated roster and depth charts have not yet been pushed through but will reportedly be available soon.

Perhaps more aesthetically pleasing than new players is the edition of new uniforms, primarily the FIU Panthers’ Vice City kit, the Air Force Falcons’ Special Operations Commands, and the Arizona State Sun Devils’ new yellow alternates.
Here are all the teams who will have additional uniform pieces:
- Florida State, SMU, UCF, Texas State, Ole Miss, UNLV, Illinois, Miami, Oregon State, Cal, Old Dominion, Toledo, Oregon, Texas A&M, UTSA, James Madison, Colorado, Stanford, ULM, Texas Tech, Utah, Mississippi State, BYU, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, Minnesota, WKU, South Alabama, Rice, NMSU, Miami (OH), San Jose State, Arizona, TCU, Houston, Georgia Tech, and UTSA.
Moreover, six programs saw their pre-existing uniform pieces updated for the 2024 season:
- SMU, Kent State, New Mexico, Washington State, Ohio State, and Florida Atlantic.

EA Sports also added Competition Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., which hosts the TransPerfect Music City Bowl. Last but not least, there is a new batch of player and overall team ratings updates, which are exclusive to the Play Now and Road to College Football Playoffs game modes.
With these substantial — and refreshingly transparent — additions and improvements, College Football 25 continues to solidify its reputation as one of the most immersive and dynamic gaming experiences of 2024.
