One of the best parts of the college football season is reaching the point when there are games nearly every night of the week. With games Tuesday through Saturday, Week 8 is full of betting opportunities.
After going 7-2 on player props last week, I’m back with a player prop from every midweek game this week. Make sure to check back each day for new player props.
Tuesday Night College Football Player Props
With three games on the docket, I’ve got three player props, one at +340. As with all college player props, try to get these early, as lines tend to move drastically, even with only a small amount of bets on each prop.
Fluff Bothwell (South Alabama) 2+ Touchdowns (+340)
Fluff Bothwell has been one of the best freshman running backs in the country and had six touchdowns in his first four games. That being said, the Jaguars have gotten away from him in their last two outings, and the offense has suffered.
Expect the Jaguars to get back to him in a big way after averaging just 13 points a game in their last two games. He’s seen an uptick in receiving as well, which should help him stay on the field in third-down situations.
Troy is 119th nationally in yards per rush allowed, and Bothwell is -190 to score once. Expect this to be closer than the spread suggests, meaning Bothwell’s big-play ability will be a huge part of the South Alabama offense for four quarters.
Jaiden Credle (Middle Tennessee State) Anytime TD (-120)
Props have been difficult to find for this one, probably because, on the surface, it’s one of the worst games of the year. It’s a matchup of the worst rushing defense in the country (Kennesaw State) and the worst passing defense in the country (MTSU). The problem is that the Blue Raiders’ rushing attack and Owls’ passing attack are also atrocious.
Jaiden Credle has scored twice this year, and the Owls’ pass defense is actually decent. I expect the Blue Raiders, finally in a positive game script, to run the ball with greater consistency. You’ll get good odds here, and I’ve seen odds as long as -120. Consider an over on his rushing yards up to about 45 yards.
Parker Awad (New Mexico State) Over 138.5 Passing Yards
New Mexico State is one of the worst teams in college football, but the Aggies are making a quarterback move back to Parker Awad after Santino Marucci got a concussion last week. The Aggies play Louisiana Tech this week as 11.5-point underdogs, meaning they’ll likely be in a negative game script.
Awad entered last week when the Aggies were already down big and played well enough. This line is way too low for Awad in a full-game situation. The Bulldogs have allowed over 230 yards passing in three straight games, even as the defense has given up just 20 points a game in that time.
