On Texas’ second drive of the ranked matchup with Michigan, RB1 Jaydon Blue suffered an injury. How serious is it, and will he return for the biggest game of the Week 2 slate?
Latest Jaydon Blue Injury Update
Blue took a 2nd & 2 carry three yards for the first down with under six minutes left in the first quarter. However, after the run, he couldn’t put any pressure on his right leg and hopped off the field.

Trainers helped him to the medical tent, where they evaluated his lower leg. He attempted to warm up on the sideline, moving with a noticeable limp. The medical staff remained by his side, and he walked on the field once the first quarter closed but was dealing with obvious discomfort.
The Longhorns lost two running backs — projected starter CJ Baxter (torn ACL) and true freshman Christian Clark (torn Achilles) — before the season, and with Blue on the sideline, the team is down to its last two scholarship backs: sophomore Tre Wisner and freshman Jerrick Gibson.

Blue left the game after producing 14 yards on four carries and six yards on three catches. He was last seen on the sideline trying to stay loose but without his helmet.
He’s appeared to regain his helmet and get back into the lineup on Texas’ last drive of the first half against Michigan, but CFN will monitor Blue’s status going forward in this game and the weeks to come.
