Chicago Bears rookie wideout Rome Odunze is just a couple of days from his NFL debut, but that doesn’t mean he no longer keeps up with college football. At least in the video game that is.
Friday afternoon, the former Washington superstar revealed his team of choice in EA Sports College Football 25, and it’s not who you’d think.
Rome Odunze Plays As Tulane in EA Sports College Football 25
Rome Odunze was a superstar at Washington. He committed to the Huskies before his senior season at Bishop Gorman in Nevada and never wavered before spending four seasons in Seattle.
But the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft doesn’t have Washington as his team of choice. Instead, the Bears rookie plays with Tulane, as he told the Chicago Sun-Times Friday.

Odunze is a West Coast guy through and through, with no clear ties to the program in New Orleans, but that doesn’t always matter in EA Sports College Football 25, as gamers love to play with teams they don’t necessarily root for in real life.
It’s refreshing to hear a player talk about his favorite team in the game only for that team to be one other than the obvious.
Why Does Rome Odunze Play With Tulane in EA Sports College Football 25?
While Odunze didn’t elaborate on why he loves to play with the Green Wave, I have a few guesses.
First, Tulane’s default playbook is unique to the team and is one of the few “Multiple” playbooks in the game. As an avid fan of the UNLV playbook myself, it makes total sense that Odunze would like playing with the Green Wave.
Tulane’s playbook has many deep shots out of varied formations, including multiple stacked looks that are rare for other teams. The wide receiver splits vary from being a couple of feet outside the offensive tackles to being as far toward the sideline as you’ll ever find. There’s a lot to love with that playbook, including pistol sets and some Wildcat.
There’s a ton of variety in the actual plays, including a ton of unique route combinations bound to be fun for a professional receiver.
Lastly, the Green Wave has several highly-rated skill players, such as Makhi Hughes at running back and Mario Williams at receiver.
The combination of scheme, available plays, and players makes the Green Wave one of gamers’ favorite teams to play with in EA Sports College Football 25.
Apparently, Odunze is one of those gamers.
