If the reappearance of a college football video game wasn’t enough to bring fans to a fever pitch (spoiler alert: it absolutely was), then the inclusion of the EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder function has left gamers with endless opportunities to bring their creative vision to life.
While a flurry of FCS, Division II, and Division III teams have been recreated in the game by eager fans, one gamer has gone one step further, using the College Football 25 create-a-team facility to bring a whole professional arm of football to fruition. The CFL is (un)officially “In the Game.”
The CFL Comes To Life in EA Sports College Football 25 via Team Builder
EA Sports College Football 25 understands football fans. From the start of the process to the game’s launch and every update in it’s infancy, the game has sought to recreate everything that fans love about the sport — and gaming.
They’ve hit the nail on the head at every turn, and Team Builder is no exception, allowing fans to bring their creative vision to life and share with others.
Now, one excitable CFL fan has taken that to another level, essentially creating the entire Canadian Football League within EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder.
Nelson Hackewich (@NelsonHackewich on social media platform X) has built every single team from the CFL and made them available through College Football 25’s download center.
Hackewich, a CFL fan and web and graphic designer according to his X (formerly known as Twitter) profile, showcased his impressive accomplishment and feat of creative brilliance with a 15-second video on social media.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are featured prominently, while other teams, such as the Edmonton Elks and Montreal Alouettes, can be seen on the team selection screen. The CFL currently has nine different teams, split into East and West Divisions, making it no small job to recreate each team’s unique identity.
As such, Hackewich admits that he still has to number and rate every player in EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder. However, he is in the process of doing so, meaning it won’t be long until you can play with accurate representations of your favorite CFL players, such as Vernon Adams Jr. or Bo Levi Mitchell.
While, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first time an entire professional league has been created in EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder, there have been several other impressive projects undertaken since the game was released less than two weeks ago.
The Texas High School Athletic Association spent time creating a litany of Texas High School teams, while the Southland Conference has brought their member schools to life in the game.
What is EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder?
If you’re not familiar with EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder, you may be wondering what on earth this create-a-team mode is. Well, wonder no more.
In a recent article for College Football Network, Tyler Davis described the game mode as a “game-changer, offering players an unparalleled level of customization and control.”
“This innovative feature allows gamers to create, design, and manage their own college football teams, taking the gaming experience to new heights. The feature provides a comprehensive suite of tools for designing every aspect of a team,” Davis continues.
“Players can start from scratch, selecting their team’s name, colors, and logo. The level of detail available is impressive, with options to customize uniforms and home field. This allows players to bring their creative visions to life, whether they’re recreating historic teams, designing futuristic squads, or imagining entirely new programs.”
Or, as in the case of Hackewich, entire professional leagues can be recreated and brought to life with the power of EA Sports’ create-a-team facility. The future of College Football 25 Team Builder is exciting, revolutionary, and ultimately, unlimited.
