With the additions of Pac-12 powerhouses Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington, the battle for the Big Ten’s crown will be tighter than ever. However, two teams stand above the rest in the Big Ten season predictions for 2024.

However, it isn’t the reigning national champions who look set to lead the conference this fall.

The Big Ten hosts the two 2023-2024 National Championships combatants, but neither leads the conference in projected win total. That honor belongs to Ohio State and Oregon, both of whom appear to have the talent to get over the hump in 2024.
The Buckeyes brought in former UCLA head coach Chip Kelly to call the plays and Kansas State transfer Will Howard to run the offense. That’s not even mentioning the deadliest backfield duo known to man in Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson.
Meanwhile, the Ducks brought in prolific passer Dillon Gabriel, who has RB Jordan James and WRs Tez Johnson and Evan Stewart at his disposal. Dan Lanning’s squad went 12-2 last year, and they have the weapons to play for a national title in 2024.
As for other contenders, there are plenty of questions that need answers. The Wolverines will likely hand the reins to Alex Orji under center, who has the tools to shine but is inexperienced. Washington overhauled their roster and coaching staff after Kalen DeBoer left for Alabama, but the Jedd Fisch and Will Rogers combination could prove deadly.
Meanwhile, Penn State’s outlook rests on the shoulders of QB Drew Allar, as the second-year starter struggled against top competition last season.

Following 9-4 and 8-6 campaigns to end the Jeff Brohm era, Purdue fell to 4-8 last season. It wasn’t QB Hudson Card’s fault, who played well in his circumstances, but the Boilermakers own the 10th hardest schedule in the country this year, crushing hope for a quick course correction.
