Micahel Pratt established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in college football over a storied career in New Orleans.
Over four years, the Tulane Green Wave quarterback has become one of the most successful in program history, and the college stats show why Pratt will go down as a legend in the school’s history books.
Michael Pratt Starts Early In Freshman Season
Pratt, a three-star recruit from Boca Raton High School, made an early impact at Tulane. In his freshman year, he played in 10 games, starting in nine after being named the starter three games into the season. This was just the beginning of his journey to becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the AAC.
He quickly established himself as one of the best freshman signal-callers in the nation, throwing for 1,806 yards and 20 touchdowns, the most by any true freshman quarterback.
Pratt’s debut came off the bench against Southern Mississippi, completing nine of his 19 passes for two touchdowns. He would have to wait another week before making his first start, this time completing 11 of 25 attempts for 141 yards and one touchdown in a loss to Houston.

Pratt Thrives in Sophomore Year
As a sophomore, Pratt made 11 starts and excelled in the season opener against the Oklahoma Sooners. The quarterback completed 27 of his 44 attempts for 296 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to the Power Five opponent.
Despite a down year for the program, Pratt threw for at least one touchdown in 10 of his 11 starts in a career-high year.
The QB earned an AAC Honorable Mention in 2021 and provided a consistent, reliable base for the Green Wave program to build around.

A Bowl Victory For Pratt in Junior Season
Pratt entered his junior season on the Maxwell Award watchlist and had the best statistical year of his career.
Starting 13 games in 2022, Pratt opened the season strongly by throwing five touchdowns and having no interceptions through the first two games. Throughout the year, Pratt provided solid quarterback play, only throwing an interception in four of his starts. He ranks second in school history for touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Pratt gathered national attention after Tulane won the AAC and defeated USC in the Cotton Bowl. He completed eight of his 17 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. It rounded off a year of rejuvenation for the Green Wave program, which finished 11-2 in the season.
The Green Wave QB ended his junior year with one of the best seasons in Tulane’s history, finishing fourth in single-season passing yards with 3,009 and third with passing touchdowns with 27.

Pratt Breaks Program Records in Senior Season
Pratt entered his senior season as one of the most productive quarterbacks in the country and led the Green Wave to an 11-3 record. However, the season didn’t start as the quarterback would have hoped.
Pratt injured his knee in the season opener against South Alabama, where he impressively completed 14 of his 15 passes for 294 yards and four touchdowns.

The injury lingered through the week, meaning Pratt had to sit out of the next game. It was a massive disappointment for the quarterback as Tulane faced Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels at home for what was billed as a once-in-a-generation matchup in New Orleans.
The Green Wave quarterback did bounce back, though. Tulane won every game Pratt played until the AAC Championship Game where they were defeated by the SMU Mustangs. Despite defeat, they firmly established themselves as the premier program in the Group of Five.
Pratt then decided to opt out of Tulane’s bowl game to declare for the NFL Draft and focus on the 2024 Senior Bowl.
Over a storied career at Tulane, Pratt has become the most successful quarterback in Green Wave history. He leads the program in passing yards (9,611) and passing touchdowns (90), as he established a legacy in New Orleans.
