Tim Beck’s Contract and Salary in 2024
Beck signed a five-year contract with Coastal Carolina in 2022 that pays him $1 million in base salary. That salary will increase by $50,000 each year that the Chanticleers have a winning season.
On top of the initial salary, some bonuses and incentives could see the Chanticleers’ head coach earn more.
WMBF reports that a $400,000 bonus will be paid if Coastal Carolina wins their division. There are also two $600,000 bonuses up for grabs. The first is paid if Beck leads the Chanticleers to a Sun Belt Conference title, and the second is payable if Coastal Carolina finishes the season ranked in the AP Top 25.
While these are great bonuses to achieve, Beck’s contract specifies that he needs to share money earned from performance-related incentives 50/50 between himself and his staff.
2024 will be Beck’s second season in Conway, South Carolina, and he has been on a journey as an offensive play-caller with various big programs. After being OC with the NC State Wolfpack for three seasons, Beck jumped at the chance to take on his inaugural head coaching opportunity.
The former NC State offensive coordinator replaced Jamey Chadwell, who left to become head coach with the Liberty Flames. In Beck’s first year in charge, he led Coastal to an 8-5 season and a victory in the Hawaii Bowl over San Jose State.
Beck has been a coach at multiple college programs since he was an assistant at Miramar High School in 1988. With high-profile stops as OC in Nebraska, Ohio State, and Texas, the Chanticleers are the experienced coaches’ first head coaching role.
However, taking a head coaching position hasn’t necessarily earned Beck a bigger contract. In his last year as NC State OC in 2022, he earned $1.009 million, fractionally more than the Chanticleers HC earned in 2023.
